Hello. While we do not have the historical / archaeological proof that it was ever referred to as Jebus outside of the Old Testament, the books of Joshua all the way to 2 Samuel, use the name interchangeably with Jerusalem. 1 Chronicles reiterates the belief that it was called Jebus before David.
I believe the interchangeable usage was more the result of the scribe(s) not maintaining consistency while also reminding the audience that it was one and the same place.
Historically though, we only find the name Jerusalem being used as far back as the Bronze Age (i.e. the Amarna Letters).
